Penpals, Adding and Subtracting Multi-Digit Numbers, Writing Celebrations, and More!

We worked on solving problems with missing addends.
When we were done, we created our own problems for our buddy to solve!

We worked with a buddy using estimation to determine reasonable answers
for multi-digit addition and subtraction.

As we explored prepositions, we realized that we can use them to explain when, explain where, and add more details in our sentences.

We created T-Charts and used them to support how Sistine or Rob are complex characters
 in the book Tiger Rising.
We worked on describing how they act differently at school and with each other.
As we completed the chart, we worked on trying to find specific sentences from the text to support our answers.

We worked with our science group to create our rollercoaster with two hills.

In writing, we worked to add secret thoughts and a quirkiness to make our characters unique and complex.

We were so lucky to have an author visit Kipling.
Lindsay Currie came to share her experiences in writing with students.

We found out that we have penpals from Sarlat, France!
Here is a link to our slideshow that we watched to learn more about the area.

We started writing our letters to the 4th grade students that are learning English!

We took time to celebrate our accomplishments as writers!

We played BINGO as a school!

Share Something Great is... GREAT!
We have a lot to say. Next week, we are going to set a two minute timer for each amazing 4th grader! :)

We used our word problem solving strategies to help us answer two and three step word problems.
We also began our review for chapter 2.

We explored ideas in our own independent reading to see if we can come up with a claim that we can possibly debate in the future!

Special thanks goes out to the classroom Tweeter for capturing the majority of pictures for our class blog!
